The Silence Proshell 3L Trousers are a pair of 3-layered shell trousers with fully taped seams and a waterproof Hypershell® Pro membrane, ensuring complete protection from rain and moisture. With their 4-way stretch, the trousers are designed to provide maximum comfort and silence. The ventilation zippers at the thighs ventilate and give incredible comfort. They’ve got pre-shaped knees and an adjustable waist with Velcro for maximum comfort and are DWR-treated for enhanced water repellency. The lower legs are expandable with zippers for an optimal fit over ski- or walking boots.

Size and breathability
As many men have commented, possibly best to buy a size smaller than your normal. I'm wondering just how tall the company's "Large" model is. I wore them on a cool summer's day (16 degrees) for hiking on fells and I was too hot and legs sweating within 45min. In cold conditions it may not have been such a problem.

I sized up to allow the trousers to fit over baselayers/shorts. I'd usually wear large. (34w) They work perfectly for me nd are very comfortable, soft material, not harsh like some waterproof trousers. Would happily wear them with just boxer shorts underneath on a warm but wet day. Vents are a great function. Side zips up to knee height would be beneficial to enable use as an over trouser, although there are other trousers in the range for that.
