Duffle Bags

A duffle bag is a soft, spacious, easy-to-carry bag with one large main compartment. That simple design makes it one of the most versatile bags you can own: ideal for travel, weekends away, the gym, sports kit, and hauling gear for outdoor trips. Because the fabric is soft rather than rigid, a duffle squeezes into car boots and tight spaces easily and handles bulky or odd-shaped items that wouldn't fit a hard suitcase.

It depends on your trip. As a rough guide, smaller bags (around 35–40 litres) suit the gym, an overnight stay, or a weekend away, and are easier to carry and store. Mid-size bags (around 70 litres) work well for longer trips or as a family gear bag. Large bags (90 litres and up) are best for big adventures, bulky gear, or when you need to move a lot at once. Remember that a soft bag has no rigid frame, so the fullness and weight are up to you.

A packable duffle folds down into its own pocket or a small bundle when empty, so it takes up very little space. That makes it perfect as a spare bag: keep it in your main luggage and pull it out when you need extra room, for shopping or gear on the way home, or simply store it flat at home until your next trip. When you need it, it opens out into a full-size bag.
